NATIONAL: Streetwear brand Insight has revealed the concept behind its new Bali flagship store, as its parent company continues in its bid to acquire the embattled Ksubi business.

As first reported in Ragtrader magazine late last year, the three-storey flagship site will be operated by Indonesian distributor and licensee Planet Surf.

Insight art director Steve Gorrow, brother of Ksubi founder George Gorrow, has now revealed the concept behind the Kuta store, which opened in December.

Described as "more like an artist's warehouse than a shop", it features exposed ceilings and open stairwells leading to floors of recycled teak and vintage furniture. Crumbling brick and copper pipes line the walls, while exposed ceilings and dangling barn lights extend the weathered theme.

The space houses Insight's full mainline collections, capsule ranges, limited edition pieces and a permanent Garage Artists Gallery. An official launch saw bands, artists, extreme sportsman and disc jockeys descend on the store.

Meanwhile, its Sydney-based parent company Bleach has continued in its bid to purchase upmarket denim brand Ksubi, which entered into voluntary administration last month.
