SYDNEY: A workshop will be held in November to help fashion businesses understand the ins and outs of the 2010/11 AusIndustry Textile, Clothing and Footwear (TCF) Small Business Program.
To be hosted by consultancy firm Australian Fashion Partners in conjunction with the NSW government and the Council of Textile & Fashion Industries of Australia (TFIA), the November 10 event will focus on how to successfully apply for grant funding.
The AusIndustry Small Business Program is a federal government initiative that has been awarding grants to TCF small businesses since 2006. The aim of the program is to improve the entrepreneurial and business culture within TCF small businesses.
The competitive, merit-based program offers grants of up to $50,000 to businesses with fewer than 20 employees. Projects undertaken with grant money must be completed within one financial year.
The closing date for 2010/11 grants is likely to be the end of February 2010 for projects commencing from July 1, 2010, although a set date is yet to be confirmed.
