Those in the fashion industry love to celebrate new ventures with a bang. Ragtrader takes a look at who’s been clinking glasses since its last edition went to press.
A white wedding Australian consumer bridal website theknot.com took a less traditional approach in publicising its launch. Some 10 brides hit the streets of Sydney and Melbourne in a targeted experiential campaign aimed at attracting city workers and commuters. Event organisers adopted the strategy after market research showed the highest target demographic for the website was young women in professional careers.
The shining Designers Kym Ellery, Nicola Finetti and Konstantina Mittas (pictured) were on hand to welcome Thomas Sabo’s entry into the Australian retail market. Fashion media were given a preview of the jewellery designer’s concept store at Sydney’s Queen Victoria Building, before being transported to the glitzy Ivy Room in stretch hummers. Over 300 guests greeted Sabo, who flew down from Germany for the event, and fashion delegates on arrival.
To new beginnings Nicola and Carmela Cerrone (pictured) played host to Sydney’s social elite at the launch of the Cerrone flagship store in Sydney’s Martin Place. In addition to distinguished industry guests such as Camilla and Marc Freeman and Nicola Finetti, Lady Sonia McMahon and Kerri-Anne Kennerly were in attendance as models paraded the brand’s latest jewels in Alex Perry gowns. Model-turned-author Tara Moss also showcased a matching diamond cuff and earrings set, created especially for the evening.
