SYDNEY: Gazal chairman and director John Blood has announced his retirement from the apparel group after a long period of service.
Blood was chairman for the last five years and a director for 16 years. He will retire at the conclusion of the company's annual general meeting on November 26. It is expected he will continue to consult to the CEO and board in an advisory role.
It is planned that the role of chairman will be taken on by Bruce Klatsky, who will also be appointed as a director. Klatsky has been involved with the company in an independent advisory capacity for a number of years. He was the chairman and CEO of apparel group Phillips-Van Heusen for 12 years.
This appointment is subject to shareholder approval at the forthcoming AGM.
The Gazal stable of brands includes Calvin Klein underwear, Crystelle, Fred Bracks, Loveable and Davenport.
