MELBOURNE: Accessories label Haul is set to expand its product range in preparation for wholesale and retail growth.
The Melbourne-based brand specialises in messenger bags and document wallets produced from recycled vinyl. Wallets, belts and urban bags will be introduced in late September with a watch range also scheduled for release in coming seasons.
Belts will be priced at $90 while bags start at $150. Materials sourced by the brand include vinyl from advertising billboards, truck inner-tubes and rubber printing blankets.
Haul director Scott Kilmartin said while the brand had scaled back its wholesale arm in 2008, it was now targeting niche streetwear stores and homeware/design retailers in the lead up to Christmas.
"We are definitely street/design driven brand and not so much a ‘treehugger' brand, although we do appeal to the green crowd," he explained.
The label currently has its own store in North Fitzroy and is looking to open a Melbourne laneway site called TOWNhaul in 2010. A Sydney stand-alone store is also on the cards for next year.
A majority of sales for the brand are generated online.
