GEELONG: Emu Australia is set to double its local manufacturing capacity and expand its production and distribution premises.
The 15 year-old Australian based and owned company is investing in new production technology for both footwear and apparel, including European cutting machines and soling equipment.
It is increasing its warehousing capacity and has also completed a two year upgrade of its Australian based distribution centre. The changes are to meet sales growth in Australia and New Zealand.
Sheepskin and merino wool footwear are key to the brand, which is sold in over 10,000 locations in 62 countries. International stockists include Fred Segal and Kitson in Los Angeles and Montmartre, Macy’s and Wendy Foster in New York.
