Sportscraft sales go live NATIONAL: Fashion retailer Sportscraft will launch an online store this month. The current website, sportscraft.com.au, will be upgraded to cater for the transactional facility with all product available at the same time it hits stores. A key feature will be a ‘Shop the Look’ category of wardrobe solutions to help customers understand how trends are put together. VIP customers of the men’s and women’s apparel brand will be able to log in and view VIP special prices when browsing the site. Purchases will be delivered nationally for $12, to New Zealand for $25 and internationally for $40. A gift wrapping service will also be available, with purchases wrapped in Sportscraft tissue paper, ribbon and a gift tag. The online store will add to the brand’s 25 stores and 148 concessions in Myer and David Jones.
Specialty online drive SYDNEY: Online stores for Millers and Katies could be on the cards, with owner Specialty Fashion Group reportedly planning to push its web sales division. In its annual report to shareholders, the apparel group said it was in the process of rolling out e-stores across its brands. Chief financial officer Alison Henriksen declined to reveal which brand was next in line but confirmed Crossroads, Autograph, City Chic and Queenspark all had online stores.
No down under NATIONAL: Spanish fast fashion giant Zara will not target the Australian market as part of its online retail assault. Earlier this month, the company announced it will launch an online store in time for the northern hemisphere autumn/winter 2010 season. A spokesperson for parent company Inditex said Zara’s e-shop will only run in six European markets: Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Italy and the UK.
Posh push for PJS SYDNEY: Sleepwear label Posh Pyjamas is focusing on online sales in a bid to keep margins low and manufacturing in Australia. The label is designed by the team behind iconic women’s beachwear brand Aztec Rose. A new sleepwear venture, which was launched just six months ago, will maintain a small wholesale base with current clients including Crabtree and Evelyn gift stores. Its online store, poshpyjamas.com.au, currently delivers to consumers worldwide.
