QUEENSLAND: Emerging designer George Wu has debuted a capsule of collection of hand-made accessories as part of his autumn/winter 2010 collection.
Shoulder pads, statement neckpieces, headpieces, cuffs and a belt are included in the offer. It is designed to allow more extravagant detailing to be added to each garment in the apparel range.
The clothing offer is themed 'Indistinct Messenger' and draws on concepts from the novel Gulliver's Travels to inspire an 18th century look. It features androgynous silhouettes, oversized shirt dresses, dramatic shoulder pieces, caplets and billowing trousers.
Finely tailored tucks, gathers, buttonhole-stitched edges, ruffled cuffs, ribboned flowers, pearls and skull and cross bone motifs are all in the mix. Black and white are key shades, along with deep aubergine and cinnamon tones.
Prices span from $150 to $770, with stock dropping into boutiques this month.
