Accent Group activewear label Exie has opened its first two long-awaited Victorian stores at Westfield Fountain Gate and Eastland Shopping Centre.

Originally scheduled to open in August, but delayed due to COVID lockdowns, the new Victorian Exie stores bring the brand's bricks-and-mortar footprint to three, with the brand's first store unveiled in Queensland's Sunshine Plaza earlier this month.

More stores are in the works too, with plans to open in Pacific Fair (QLD) and Highpoint (Victoria), set to open in coming weeks.

Exie founder and head of apparel design Christina Exie said the brand's growth has happened rapidly.

"Exie has grown at an exponential rate, from inception to our first bricks-and-mortar stores in under two years.

"I’ve been patiently waiting through months of lockdown, and am thrilled to celebrate our long-awaited store openings as Melbourne reopens.

"We are excited to expand and evolve the brand, and connect with our customers through a new in-store experience," she said.

The new stores feature an industrial-style aesthetic fused with influences from the gym including chrome barbells as hanging rails, oversized dumbbells and boxing equipment.

These industrial features are contrasted against the soft furnishings, which include velour ottomans and fabric curtains in bright pink.

To align with the opening of its stores, Exie has released its spring/summer 21 campaign, 'Alter Ego' which celebrates the versatility of the Exie customer.

"With a mantra to ‘Embrace Ourselves, Flaws and All’, Exie appeals to a Gen Z mindset of breaking through stereotype barriers and achieving goals," the brand added in a statement.

Exie is part of Accent Group's retail brand portfolio which includes Hype DC, Platypus, Skechers, Stylerunner, 4Workers and Glue Store.

Exie's Alter Ego collection is available online and in-store now for between $59.99 and $289.99.

Exie was founded in 2019 and joined forces with Accent Group in 2020.
