Zimmermann is the only Australian brand on schedule for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York.
The womenswear brand will fly the flag solo when it showcases its spring 2014 ready-to-wear collection on September 6.
Designer Nicky Zimmermann has now elected to make New York and its official schedule the base to present each ready-to-wear season.
“The opportunity to create a bigger and consistent brand statement is really important for us in such a significant fashion centre like New York," she said.
"It's another step in growing Zimmermann into a genuinely global fashion brand from Australia.
"I’m really excited about this collection, there’s still a lot of work to do but I can’t wait to see it on the runway.”
In the same month, Zimmermann will expand its New York store to a bigger flagship at 55 Mercer Street, Soho.
The heritage building, featuring high ceilings and plenty of space will be Zimmermann’s biggest store worldwide with a total area of 3800 sqft.
Zimmermann currently has a store on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles as well as the existing New York flagship.
The label intends to open a number of new stores in the US over the next two years, as well stores in the UK and Europe.
