Zimmermann is continuing its retail rollout in the U.S. with the opening of two more boutiques on the West Coast of California in October 2018.
In 2016, the brand sold a minority share to global growth equity firm General Atlantic, in a bid to drive international expansion.
The firm has investments in Tory Burch, Airbnb, Buzzfeed and Uber.
Zimmermann will open its second free-standing store in the Los Angeles area, in Pacific Palisades and its first retail store location in San Francisco, in historic Jackson Square.
Creative director and co-founder Nicky Zimmerman said the West Coast expansion was an exciting time for the brand.
“We're so excited to be expanding on the West Coast and tapping into San Francisco's fashion, art, design and tech world.
“We've always loved the energy and beauty of San Francisco and have spent a lot of time in the city over the years.”
Nicky and Simone Zimmermann will celebrate the opening of the San Francisco boutique by co-hosting an in-store cocktail event followed by an intimate dinner nearby at Cotogna with VIP's and friends of the brand.
San Francisco locals Lauren Goodman, Calgary Avansino, Claudia Mata Gladish and Sabrina Buell will co-host both the store cocktail and dinner.
“Jackson Square is always a go to destination for us when we're in town, so when an opportunity came up to open our first store in San Francisco, it just felt right,” Zimmermann said.
“We are looking forward to presenting our collections within our own stores' unique environment.
“Both stores are in locations that I like to visit when I'm in each city.”
In keeping with the brand's Australian roots, both boutiques are designed by Australian architect Don McQualter of Studio McQualter.
The San Francisco store is 2,800 square feet located on 458-460 Jackson Street.
The space was previously occupied by an art gallery giving the store ample square footage and grand high ceilings.
The Pacific Palisades store is 1,561 square feet located on 5-101 N Swarthmore Avenue with raw ceiling and beams, as well as exposed lighting and service ducts.
In addition, Studio McQualter designed all custom metalwork, light fixtures, display tables, millwork and visual merchandising fixtures for both stores.
The designs were mixed with a selection of classic furniture, such as 1930's Art Deco armchairs and Charles Dudouyt dining tables made of solid oak.
The brand has further announcements to come for U.S. and European retail expansion in 2019.
General Atlantic has also invested in fashion brands Tory Burch and House of Anita Dongre, and was reportedly in advanced negotiations to invest in Alexander Wang in October last year. The firm’s other investments include fast-growing tech businesses Airbnb, Uber and Buzzfeed
