Zimmermann has opened its first boutique in Hong Kong as the Australian fashion brand continues its expansion across Asia.
This adds to just over 100 retail locations globally, including around 19 in Australia, with higher proportions in the United States and across Europe.
Located at Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Admiralty, the new Hong Kong boutique opens with Zimmermann’s latest High Summer 26 collection.
The space was designed by long-term Zimmermann collaborator Studio McQualter. An expansive glass façade fronts the boutique, layered with jade-glazed ceramic tiles and timber surfaces. Works by Australian artists Angus Gardner and Elliot Watson are positioned at the entry.
Inside, custom terrazzo flooring sits beneath a gloss-panelled ceiling, while stained oak wardrobes divide the boutique into a series of spaces housing the ready-to-wear collection. The wardrobes also form a backdrop for art and vintage lighting pieces, including a 1970s pendant by Ercole Barovier above an accessory display and a 1920s Haagse School chair.
Through a mirrored entry, a lounge area features mauve walls, Murano sconces and carpet, along with a built-in sofa paired with Eero Saarinen Tulip chairs.
Creative director and co-founder Nicky Zimmermann said the brand had long felt connected to Hong Kong.
"It's incredibly exciting to open in Hong Kong – it's such a dynamic, global city and one we've long felt connected to," Zimmermann said.
"We really wanted the boutique to feel immersive and considered, with a strong sense of texture and discovery throughout. It reflects our design aesthetic, but also invites clients to explore – from the finishes to the furniture and art pieces, there's a lot to uncover within the space."
This also marks the first major expansion by the brand since Roberto Eggs took over the reins as CEO from Chris Olliver in May this year.
Sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann founded the brand in Sydney in 1991. Zimmermann is known for its signature aesthetic combining sophisticated femininity, bold colour and distinctive prints.
