Zimmermann is continuing its global retail expansion with the opening of a boutique in St. Tropez.
The St. Tropez boutique is the brand’s second free-standing store in Europe and its first retail store location in France.
Co-founder Nicky Zimmermann said the brand opened its first European location in London in 2017.
“We’re so excited to be opening our store in Saint Tropez – apart from it being our first Zimmermann boutique in France, it’s a dream to have a store in such an iconic European destination.
"We spent some time last summer looking for a location and when this position became available we thought it was perfect space to bring a little bit of Zimmermann to the south of France,” she said.
Nicky and Simone Zimmermann will celebrate the opening by hosting a weekend event with VIP’s and friends of the brand.
The weekend will commence with an intimate beachside, candle-lit dinner at La Plage Des Salins tonight.
This will be followed by a scenic lunch and all-day pool party at the historic Chateau Volterra on Saturday.
Both events will be creatively curated by Athena Calderone of EyeSwoon.
In keeping with the brand’s Australian roots, the boutique is designed by Australian architect Don McQualter of Studio McQualter.
Additionally, various exclusive pieces have been designed for the St. Tropez location to celebrate the opening, specifically a men’s board shorts capsule collection.
The men’s board shorts collection will be available in the St. Tropez, East Hampton and Bal Harbour retail store locations as well as exclusively online at zimmermannwear.com.
"The store is fresh, fun and intimate," Zimmermann said.
"We’ve created exclusives for the store such as touristy holiday T’s, holiday jewelry and beach bags, and our men’s board shorts capsule. The idea was to create a playful sanctuary to visit on your summer holiday.”
The store is 645 square feet and located on 58 Rue François Sibilli - Saint Tropez, 83990.
The building has been painted in a subdued pink with earthy pale green accents.
The space features subtle green hues throughout the floor tiles, Palladiana stone counter tables and curtains.
Arched forms and textured render wall finishes, synonymous with Zimmermann stores, make a cameo in this location.
In addition, Studio McQualter designed all custom metalwork, custom light fixtures and visual merchandising fixtures.
They mixed these designs with a selection of classic furniture, such as 1960’s bamboo stools and Stilnovo ceiling pendants, and lighting elements to complete the overall store design.
