Australian fashion house Zimmermann has gained the highest accolade in Paris after the board of directors of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode approved the brand’s membership in its prestigious list.

Alaïa, The Row and Tom Ford were also approved in the same meeting, which positions them all at the highest echelon of global fashion.

“These new memberships confirm the Federation's anchoring and influence, in France and internationally, and reflect the attractiveness of its ecosystem to major actors in international creative fashion,” the Federation shared. 

Zimmermann joins just over 90 brands globally that are currently in the membership group, which includes the likes of Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Fendi, Jacquemus, Loewe, Mugler, Pierre Cardin, Stella McCartney and Versace.

The brand has been connected with the Fédération in recent years, showcasing its styles at Paris Fashion Week since 2022. 

The luxury label was founded by Nicky and Simone Zimmermann in 1991, who began selling their designs at Paddington Markets before opening the first store in the neighbourhood in 1992.

Today, Zimmermann operates over 100 boutiques globally, including 19 across Australia, nine across East Asia, five across the Middle East, over 30 across Europe and nearly 40 across North America. 

In FY25, the luxury label reported total revenue of $645.7 million, which is double what it accrued in FY24. Despite the doubling of sales, the brand reported a loss of $2.7 million – a vast improvement from the $50 million loss in FY24.
