Australian womenswear brand Zimmermann has debuted its first ready-to-wear collection since announcing New York as its launch base.
Zimmermann will present each new collection as part of the official New York Fashion Week schedule.
Zimmermann presented its Spring 2014 collection The Ringmaster at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York.
Designer Nicky Zimmermann was inspired by the "enigmatic language of the circus" with voluminous proportions and coated fabrications offset by asymmetrical tailoring and technical swimwear.
Zimmermann used a base palette of black and white in tandem with soft peach and blush hues, tiger stripes and smudged prints.
Garments were accessorised with cage-like neck pieces, cuffs with oversized square stone pendants, pointe-inspired shoes with wide elastic, and fold-over clutches in pony hair.
Next month, Zimmermann will expand its New York store to a its largest flagship worldwide at 55 Mercer Street, Soho.
