Is a Zara Australia online store just around the corner?

Parent company Inditex has reported a sales rise of 16 per cent for the year up to September 10.

Net sales rose to AU$14.7 billion, accelerating net profit by more than a quarter to AU$1.8 billion.

The profit surge comes as Inditex rolls out more stores and expands its online operations in Asia.

While e-commerce stores are operational across key European and American markets, the latest blitz has occurred closer to home.

This month, www.zara.com went live in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, while Oysho, Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius and Pull&Bear all launched their online sales platforms in China.

The Group currently sells its products online in a total of 28 markets.

Inditex opened 94 new stores worldwide, taking its total number of stores worldwide to 6,777.
