Fashion chain Witchery has strengthened an old alliance, following the success of a surprise partnership last year.
The womenswear retailer, now owned by the Country Road Group, has signed up for its second design collaboration with Madison magazine following the success of the inaugural collaboration in summer last year.
The duo have worked together to produce a limited-edition capsule collection of chic winter separates designed to mix-and-match, with pieces to begin dropping in store this week.
The launch of the collaboration falls in line with the on-sale date of the final issue of the magazine, which will close curtains after eight years.
The limited-edition range will consist of eight pieces ranging from $129.95 to $499.95, with each item designed by the Madison fashion team together with Witchery designers. Product will be sold across 27 Witchery stores nationally and online at witchery.com.au.
With a focus on easy, directional pieces in quality fabrications, the range includes a textured cocoon coat, roll shoulder knit, military crop pants, knit trim pleat skirt, jersey pencil skirt, wool peplum dress, ribbed hem cami in two colour-ways, and a suede sleeve cardi.
Commenting on the tie-up, Madison editor Lizzie Renkert revealed the inspiration behind the covetable new collaboration has come from this winter’s hottest trends, including modern femininity and exaggerated silhouettes.
“We wanted to create pieces with a real fashion focus, taking the trends we have seen on the international runways and making them accessible and easy to wear for every stylish woman,” she said.
“The beauty of this collaboration is that you can mix-and-match the collection or wear each piece with your existing wardrobe.”
Witchery general manager of design Linda Levy added that the luxurious fabrications and directional styles in the new collection are sure to appeal to consumers.
“The Witchery woman will embrace the edgy silhouettes featured in the collection, such as the coveted cocoon coat and the navy roll shoulder knit, to make a striking statement. Energetic pops of fuchsia punctuate the collection and are anchored with a palette rich in inky navy, dusty pinks and muted greys,” said Levy.
“The wool peplum dress in grey marle, in particular, adds instant allure with its body-con shape.”
The Witchery and Madison capsule collection is in store and online at witchery.com.au from May 15.
