Global sports brand Wilson has just opened the doors to its first South Australian store this month. 

Located at Burnside Village, just southeast of Adelaide CBD, the new store brings Wilson’s total Australian store count to three, adding to two others in Melbourne. The brand is also stocked in Rebel among a raft of other local retailers Australia-wide.

The new store will be a flagship space for tennis and sportswear customers, spanning 95 square metres and selling a curated collection of tennis equipment, including racquets, footwear and apparel. 

The store will also feature a dedicated stringing service. 

“We are delighted to announce the opening of our new Wilson retail store at Burnside Village in Adelaide, SA,” head of Wilson AU/NZ Phillip Watkins said. 

“This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to creating an elevated brand experience for our consumers. We look forward to welcoming the Adelaide community into our store and strengthening our connection with this important market.”

Wilson’s entry into Burnside follows a raft of other players entering the shopping centre over the last year. This includes Paspaley, LSKD, Viktoria & Woods, July, Ralph Lauren, Simone Pérèle, Universal Store, OPSM, Sunglass Hut and Uniqlo. 

Some of these represent a first-time entry into the South Australian market, including Paspaley, LSKD and July.

Burnside Village CEO Gregg Downer welcomed Wilson to the centre. 

“Their commitment to innovation and quality aligns perfectly with our vision for the centre, particularly with the ongoing redevelopment. Wilson will be a fantastic addition to our lifestyle precinct and an exciting drawcard for our customers,” he said. 

The store opened on November 5 last week, offering customers who spend over $250 in-store a choice of a branded gift, such as a tote bag, a water bottle or a sweat towel. 

Wilson is also set to launch with a community wellness morning, hosted in collaboration with Soluna. The event is scheduled for this Friday, November 14, utilising a court at Glenunga Tennis Club.

According to its American website, the brand has 17 retail spaces across America. Wilson is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with offices and staff in more than 100 countries. The global Wilson team is 1,600.
