Boohoo Australia has launched a new recycled collection, 'Ready for the Future.'

The collection forms part of the brand's four 'Ready for the Future' sustainability commitments which seek to improve materials, waste, packaging and transparency.

The Ready for the Future collection is made from 95% recycled polyester and 5% elastane, which is made from plastic that could have otherwise gone to waste.

"From casual essentials to exposed seam dresses and slinky bodysuits, these pieces all have one thing in common: they put the future first," Boohoo said in a statement.

"[We] recently published details of our UK manufacturers and introduced changes to the way we work with our suppliers.

"For this collection we have teamed up with a small UK supplier to create a collection where all the material is made from 95% recycled polyester and 5% elastane," the business said.

Additionally, all neck labels, swing tags and packaging in the collection are made from recycled products.

The collection helps the business - and wider Boohoo Group - work towards its Ready for the Future sustainability goals, which sees it aiming to replace all cotton and polyester with recycled or more sustainable alternatives by 2025.

The Group has also extended its waste diversion strategy to its UK supply chain - building on the work it has done to divert waste in its own operations from landfill.

"We’re also committed to developing different ways for customers to recycle their garments and investigating resale platforms to keep clothes in use for longer," Boohoo added in a statement.

When it comes to packaging, Boohoo Group has already switched its dispatch bags to those that contain over 80% recycled plastic.

The business states it is working with its suppliers to ensure a consistent approach with its garment packaging and that it will continue investigating more sustainable packaging options.

"This is just the start... the agenda for change will be ongoing, extensive and transparent," Boohoo added.

"We’re committed to being transparent about our goals so we’ll be sharing progress towards our commitments regularly," the business said.

The Ready for the Future collection is available now in sizes 6-24 and retails for between $10 and $55.

Colours used across the collection include neutral browns and beiges as well as pinks, baby blues and bottle greens.
