What happened to the man who conned Myer?

Andrew Jeffrey Flanagan has been ordered to undertake 400 hours of unpaid work after an elaborate con which saw him accept an executive position at Myer in 2014.

He pleaded guilty to four counts of attempting to obtain financial advantage by deception at several firms last Monday.

Victorian County Court Judge Gerard Mullaly ordered Flanagan to serve a three-year community corrections order.

This includes unpaid work and alcohol and mental health treatment.

Last June, Flanagan was appointed to the role of Myer general manager strategy and business development.

The $400,000 package came undone after it was revealed he falsified previous senior experience at Spanish giant Zara.

Flanagan had fraudulently secured senior positions at a number of high-profile firms, including Specialty Fashion Group.
