Westfield's new body shape calculator should take height into account – say some puzzled customers.

In a bid to encourage women to become more familiar with their figure size, the host of TVs How To Look Good Naked, Gok Wan, accompanied by Westfield stylists, are touring the country to promote the tool.

Participants enter their bust, hips and waist measurements into westfield.com.au to help determine which of the five body shapes they are.

Whether a pear, apple, rectangle, hourglass or inverted triangle, the calculator can tell women what shape they are and provide instant access to style advice from the Westfield stylists, based on the body shape.

However, just days after the shopping centre chain launched its free online guidance tool, a mix of feedback was logged on the site, with many requesting that a height option should be added.

Calculator user Lisa Cossens proclaimed that 'short women need help too' and that it should not just focus on the taller framed woman.

“This calculator needs to take height into account as there's no way I'm a rectangle with endless legs and I can't wear the styles suggested for me as I'm 5ft 1ins,”  Cossens said.

“I think height needs to be accounted for this to be accurate,” said one user, Smith.

“I laughed when this came back. I'm tall and slim and yes I have a tiny waist, but I'm definitely not an hour glass.”

“I am only 5ft tall - I find all the fashion tips are for taller woman,” user Kat said.

Another said: “This doesn't seem to account for height as I am dumpy and certainly don't have 'endless legs'.”

Despite the feedback regarding height some users said they were pleased with the results and their designated shapes.

A spokesman from Westfield said they appreciate the feedback, but stressed that height does not alter the final body shape produced by the calculator.

“The core styling principles for each of the five body shapes recommended by the Westfield stylists are not affected or impacted by the height of the user.

“Westfield will continue to evolve its style services and encourages feedback from shoppers.”

Shoppers can share their feedback on westfield.com.au,  the Westfield Facebook page or at one of the centres.
