Volley has launched the first of many collaborations with Australian band Dune Rats.
The debut collaboration collection will launch tomorrow (March 3) and features two original shoe designs, socks, a backpack and a hat, marking the beginning of an ongoing collaboration between the band and shoe business.
Aside from offering customers a new kicks, the range will also raise funds for the Red Cross Flood Appeal, to assist Aussies who have suffered in the recent floods in Queensland – the Dunies' home state.
Volley will donate $10 from every shoe sold from the collaboration to the Appeal.
Volley lead designer Derek Yuen welcomed the ongoing partnership with the Dune Rats.
"It was stacks of fun working with Dunies to design the collection.
"They were heavily involved in the creative process of developing this collection, workshopping ideas and concepts, and making sure we got all the details correct.
"We talked extensively throughout the product design and development process and we’re all really thrilled with the end result, one which truly was a team effort," he said.
The launch of the collection comes ahead of the band's third album 'Real Rare Whale', which is set to launch in June.
Dune Rats singer Danny Beus said the band was thrilled to collaborate with Volley.
"When we then met the legends at Volley, we were stoked there was an instant vibe and solid idea to create something together.
"The first time I can remember Volley’s, my dad’s toe was sticking through the end of his favourite pair because he’d worn them too much.
"I continued to wear them throughout the years, as I’m sure most people have, and if you ask anyone who’s been on a roof you have less chance of falling on your ass if you're wearing a pair of Volley’s.
"We’re super psyched to make insanely quirky Dunies shoes and there’s going to be even more bright and bold kicks coming," he said.
The range will be sold exclusively on the Volley website and in General Pants and City Beach stores around Australia.
The collection will retail for between $19.99 and $99.99.
