Australian lifestyle brand Viktoria & Woods has partnered with the i=change donation platform to raise funds for the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
Viktoria & Woods will donate $1 from every sale on its website directly to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation’s ‘plant a coral’ cause, which focuses on repopulating damaged areas of the reef.
“Viktoria & Woods has always been deeply passionate about the ocean," creative director Margie Woods said. "Through our collaboration with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, we hope to empower our customers to join us in taking meaningful action to protect this invaluable natural resource.”
This comes as climate change threatens the survival of the Great Barrier Reef due to rising water temperatures, causing mass bleaching events, with severe weather also impacting the stability of the reefs.
“Our mission is to safeguard the future of the Reef and the animals and communities that rely on it,” Great Barrier Reef Foundation managing director Anna Marsden said. “The mass bleaching event underway on the Reef right now highlights the critical need to restore damaged areas of the Reef through our Plant a Coral program.
“Our collaboration with Viktoria & Woods is helping to weave a sustainable future for the Great Barrier Reef, one coral at a time.”
The i=change donation platform is officially live on the Viktoria & Woods website. The fashion retailer joins other fashion brands utilising the donation platform for various causes, including Bec + Bridge, Camilla, Shona Joy and Carla Zampatti.
