It generated $1 million in sales in its first year. Now this Aussie brand is taking on the States.

Vie Active is scaling its operations in the US, following the launch of its Venice Beach (LA) store last year.

Founder Noa Ries has set up a dedicated website for the market and a warehouse in LA, which manages distribution for the entire country.

"We initially managed our US business from Australia, but since relocating to LA in November we have begun to build a world-class team here in terms of sales, marketing, product design.

"We still have 3 key team members in Sydney who we speak to every day."

Vie Active first launched into the Australian market in 2013.

Ries reports the brand reached $1 million in sales within 12 months of operation.

She said the US market is the next major frontier and described it as "ripe" for Australian brands.

"The US is obviously a huge market with nine in 10 people wearing activewear for activities other than exercise.

"Increased consumer demand in the US [means] activewear sales have doubled in the last few years, so the opportunity is rather significant."

Vie Active is now stocked in Australia and the US including key retailers and e-tailers Tuchuzy, Stylerunner, Fire and Shine, Luxe Fitness and Fit-up in Australia and Carbon 38, CruCycle and Plum Fit in the USA.
