One of Australia's oldest retailers has received a facelift – after more than a century in operation.

Menswear retailer Henry Bucks has re-launched its flagship store on Collins Street, in a bid to reinvigorate the image of a 124 year-old brand.

The store, which sits near the corner of Collins and Elizabeth streets, has been Henry Bucks’ premier location for more than 50 years.

The 750 square metre store spans two levels, and has been refurbished to reflect the brand’s evolution, with a crisp, bright space hosting carefully curated collections.

Commenting on the refresh, Henry Bucks said the store has been re-fitted from scratch “to reflect the retailer’s appeal to a new generation of discerning customers”.

Henry Bucks managing director Tim Cecil said the challenge of such a dramatic revamp was adopting a fresh aesthetic while retaining the charm and friendliness that was the hallmark of the brand’s in-store experience.

“There’s been a rekindled interest in men’s style over the last few years, and we’re definitely seeing a growing base of customers who appreciate a more contemporary style, but still want that superior quality and service that Henry Bucks is known for,” he said.

“We’re very excited about welcoming our long-time and new customers into this space, as we think it encapsulates a fresh, modern look, while retaining the familiar, comfortable feeling that we’ve always been known for.

“At the end of the day, Henry Bucks is all about providing the most exquisite and unique menswear in Australia through an unmatched in-store experience. Our revitalised flagship store is the perfect setting for us to do this.”

The store showcases collections sourced from London, Paris, Milan, Florence, and Naples, in addition to Henry Bucks’ new own-brand collection, which is made exclusively by European manufacturers.

Alongside classic brands that Henry Bucks has carried for many years, like Canali, Barbour, Daks, Paul & Shark, Gant, Kent & Curwen and Ermenegildo Zegna, the space also features collections from more contemporary labels like Paul Smith, Hackett and Sunspel.

Henry Bucks is also the exclusive stockist in Australia of Richard James, Boglioli and Slowear.

This season Henry Bucks will also release its ‘total look’ luxury collection under its own label, all produced in Europe and Great Britain.
