Australian luxury fashion distributor YTD has officially launched its latest venture, unveiling a Vera Wang boutique at the InterContinental Hotel.
The Sydney-based group, which currently holds distribution rights for Diane Von Furstenberg and Christian Louboutin, debuted the 140sqm boutique within the arched colonnade at the rear of the hotel's famous cortile.
The store will house signature bridal gowns, accessories, footwear, corsages, fragrance and an edited homewares range.
An appointment-only bridal service will also be on offer, along with a twice-yearly Vera Wang trunk show during May and November.
The opening comes at a strong time for the Australian wedding sector, which currently draws annual revenue of $4.3 billion.
According to business information firm IBISWorld, this is expected to grow to $4.7 billion by 2016/17.
The firm estimates wedding dress, clothing and accessories account for 21.9 per cent of earnings, at $942 million, with 6.9 per cent growth projected over the next five years.
