Global athleticwear brand Lululemon will open a new store in Newcastle this week, bringing its total store count across Australia to 36.

The Newcastle store will become the ninth location in NSW, adding to existing stores in Brookfield Place, Bondi Junction, Westfield City, Warringah, Chatswood Chase, Macquarie Centre, Mosman and Miranda stores.

The 305 square metre store is located at Westfield Kotara, one of the largest shopping centres in the city. The store will house its entire range across men’s, women’s, and accessories, including the brand’s core Yoga, Run, Train and Casual ranges as well as the ‘Play’ category, including products for Golf, Tennis and Hike.

Lululemon ANZ area director Trevor Holland confirmed it was the first Lululemon store in the area.

“As we continue to expand the brand throughout Australia, we have heard the calls from Newcastle’s active and wellbeing-focused community,” Holland said. “We are excited to finally bring our innovative athletic apparel and community-focused approach to this vibrant city as we open the doors to the first Lululemon store in the area.”

In 2022, Lululemon rolled out 11 retail projects across Australia and New Zealand, investing in both expansion and refurbishments.

The brand entered the Australian market in 2004. Lululemon also operates eight stores in New Zealand, with a total store count of 44 across AU NZ.
