Melbourne-based brands HoMie and Upparel have joined forces to launch a new upcycled 'Reborn' collection at Melbourne Fashion Week.

Launching on the Meyers Place Runway, the range is a sustainable collection of one-off, upcycled apparel constructed from pre-loved garments and excess materials, made by HoMie.

Known for its commitment to upcycling and recycling garments, Upparel donated a large quantity of textiles to HoMie, sourced through its textile recycling program.

Complementing this collection is Upparel's partnership with Melbourne Fashion Week, which sees it lead the charge in reducing Melbourne's clothing waste.

The initiative will see Upparel and M/FW align with precincts, stores, shopping centres and tourism destinations across Melbourne to host clothing drop off points.

Aimed at encouraging Melbournians to take on Upparel’s ‘Reuse, Repurpose, Upcycle’ mantra, the partnership allows Melbournians to donate old and unused textiles at one of six drop off locations.

The drop off locations are:

  • Melbourne Central
  • Spencer Street Outlet
  • BSM Tourism Booth
  • The Strand GPO
  • St. Collins Lane
  • District Docklands

The Upparel x Reborn collection will be live following the preview runway show on the HoMie website on Thursday 26th November from 8pm.

HoMie has previously collaborated with Champion Australia on a Reborn collection.
