Japanese retailer Uniqlo has officially opened its first Queensland store in Indooroopilly Shopping Centre.
The brand has reported that the opening attracted a crowd of over 300 eager shoppers at the unveiling, who were welcomed into the store by traditional Japanese drummers.
Uniqlo Australia CEO Shoichi Miyasaka is thrilled to activiate the brand's growth strategy in the region.
“We are excited to have opened our first Uniqlo store in Queensland.
“Queensland was the next logical step for Uniqlo’s expansion across Australia.
“We have been honoured with the response to the launch so far and look forward to welcoming many more Brisbanians in store over the coming months.”
Indooroopilly Shopping Centre general manager Leah Mienert believes the addition of Uniqlo will bolster the centre's position as a fashion hub.
“Uniqlo is an international fashion retailer offering great quality, functionality and affordability and we’re excited to be able to bringthis to our customers.
“The opening of Uniqlo at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre further reinforces the Centre as one of Brisbane’s leading fashion and retail destinations.”
The brand is set to open its second Queensland store in Brisbane CBD in early 2016.
