Japanese global retailer Uniqlo will open its fifth store in Queensland this autumn.

It follows physical pushes from other major fashion businesses into the state, including a Shein pop-up north of Brisbane CBD and a new Kivari store on the Gold Coast.

The new Uniqlo store will be located inside Westfield Mt Gravatt, 10 kilometres south of Brisbane CBD, joining three others around Brisbane and another on the Gold Coast.

“We are thrilled to announce our fifth store in Queensland opening this autumn, which will be our fourth overall for the Brisbane area,” Uniqlo Australia CEO Fuminori Adachi said.

“We have been very grateful for the loyal support of our Queensland customers since opening in the state in 2015, and look forward to bringing greater comfort and convenience to the everyday lives of even more locals through our newest store at Westfield Mt Gravatt.”

The sales floor at Uniqlo in Mt Gravatt will cover more than 1,000 square metres, and will offer a wide range of Uniqlo apparel for men, women, kids and babies.

The store will be located on level 1 at the Kessels Road end of the shopping centre.

For the 2023 fiscal year ending August 31, Uniqlo’s global sales were approximately 2.77 trillion yen (A$28.3 billion).

Today, the company has a total of more than 2,400 Uniqlo stores across the world, including Japan, Asia, Europe and North America.
