Uniqlo is set to open its 25th Australian store at Westfield Liverpool on November 19.

The new 1050sqm store will open to consumers at 10am after an official ribbon cutting and Japanese drumming ceremony.

The store will house the brand's collection of apparel for men, women, kids and babies as well as the latest spring/summer collections.

Uniqlo COO Kensuke Suwa said that the opening of the store demonstrates the brand's commitment to the Australian market.

"With 2020 undeniably a very challenging year for the Australian retail industry, I believe being in a position to grow our team and increase our physical footprint in Sydney clearly demonstrates that there is strong demand from the Australian consumer for our products.

"With store openings in Karrinyup and Bondi Junction earlier this year, and now the opening of our 10th site in New South Wales at Westfield Liverpool, it reinforces Uniqlo’s confidence in this market.

"As we head into the festive period, we are excited to be making our range of high-quality, everyday essentials easily accessible to more Australians customers in the area and are looking forward to fostering local talent as well as becoming a key part of the Liverpool community," he said.

Scentre Group director leasing and retail solutions, John Papagiannis added that the Uniqlo Liverpool store is the ninth in the Scentre portfolio.

"Westfield Liverpool is located in the heart of Sydney’s thriving south west.

"Our retail mix caters to a diverse range of interests and tastes, which is why we remain focused on delivering brands we know our customers want and can feel excited about when they visit us.

"The opening of Uniqlo at Westfield Liverpool marks the ninth store opening within the Westfield portfolio and we’re looking forward to celebrating its grand opening with our customers later this month," he said.

Uniqlo opened its first store in Australia in the Emporium in Melbourne in 2014.
