Uniqlo Australia is set to give away 10,000 free HeatTech thermal shirts to Melburnians, following Victoria's recent lockdown.
In an effort to say a "big thank you" to Melburnians following the recent challenging times, Uniqlo will bring back its online game 'Hot or Cold' on June 25.
At 10am, 1pm and 4pm on the 25th, Melburnians will be able to jump onto the dedicated microsite to find three levels of hidden HeatTech shirts which move around in an unseen background.
During the game, their cursor will act as a heat seeker, informing them when they are getting 'hotter' (closer) or 'colder' (farther away) from the hidden shirts.
Those that manage to secure a shirt will also have the chance to gift one to someone in need by selecting from one of the three charities partnering with Uniqlo for the campaign.
Melburnians will be able to choose to donate a shirt to either the Melbourne City Mission (MCM), St Vincent’s Foundation or Thread Together.
Speaking on the campaign, Uniqlo Australia COO Kensuke Suwa said the business felt compelled to do something special for the Melbourne community, as that's where the brand made its Australian debut.
"The pandemic has undeniably impacted Melburnians with various lockdowns and ongoing restrictions in place.
"With our first ever Australian store opening in Melbourne in 2014, we wanted to do something for the local community by providing one of our signature items, the HeatTech shirt, as a way to say ‘thank you’ especially during these challenging times.
"Our focus in 2020 during the peak of COVID-19 was on assisting Australian frontline workers wherever we could through the donation of medical masks, but with our three charity partners this year, we truly hope that local, at-risk communities will be able to benefit from the warmth provided by our HeatTech shirts," he said.
Those not in Melbourne can still play the Hot or Cold game for their chance to win one of five $500 Uniqlo vouchers.
Melburnians will be able to redeem their free HeatTech shirt in Uniqlo's Victorian stores.
5000 of the free shirts will go to lucky winners, while the remaining 5000 will be donated to the participating charities.
