Japanese retailer Uniqlo has announced further Australian expansion plans.

The retailer will open a new store at Pacific Fair Shopping Centre in Broadbeach in mid-2016.

The store will cover a vast 993 square metres and create more than 60 jobs for those in the local area.

It will open as part of a $670 million redevelopment of the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre that commenced in January 2014.

Its expansion into the Gold Coast will offer customers a full lineup of apparel for men, women, kids and babies.

Uniqlo Australia CEO Shoichi Miyasaka said the store will make the brand more accessible to Australians across the country.

"We’re excited to open our doors to Gold Coast customers following the successful response to our brand at Indooroopilly."

This will be the third Queensland store for Uniqlo.

The Brisbane store is set to open early this year and will span over 2,054 square metres.
