Uniqlo is set to open its first suburban store in Australia.
Uniqlo Australia has announced the location for its second Melbourne store, at Chadstone Shopping Centre.
The large-format location will have a sales floor of nearly 1,132 square metres.
It will offer a full line-up of Uniqlo apparel, including the spring/summer 2014 collection recently released in Sydney.
The collection includes the AIRism range, as well as men's, women's, kids and babies collections.
Uniqlo opened its first Australian store at Emporium in April and announced its first Sydney store at MidCity in Pitt Street.
The Chadstone store will open in coming months.
Uniqlo CEO Shoichi Miyasaka said Australia stands as Uniqlo's 16th market globally.
"Opening our first suburban Australian store at Victoria’s ‘Fashion Capital’ is an exciting next step and a perfect fit for our brand.
"Chadstone is a brewing hub for Australian and international fashion, and we’re thrilled to join the precinct by offering a Uniqlo retail experience and sharing our ‘LifeWear’ philosophy with Australian customers."
The expansion of Uniqlo stores in Australia continues the brand active growth in the Asia Pacific region.
It follows store debuts in Singapore (2009), Malaysia (2010), Taiwan (2010), Thailand (2011), the Philippines (2012) and Indonesia (2013).
The company said it views Australia as a key market in the Asia and Oceania region and remains focused on continuing its growth in the country.
