Uniqlo hasn't just appointed five Australian ambassadors to bring its message to the people - wait, there's more.
Actress Sophie Lowe, 2011 Young Australian of the Year Jessica Watson, chef Andrew McConnell, artist Rone and blogger Sara Donaldson were named Uniqlo ambassadors in March.
The five names joined golfer and existing ambassador Adam Scott in giving the brand a local touchpoint.
But that's not the only strategy Uniqlo has to glocalise its brand.
Uniqlo Australia also has a tailored blog for the local market, dedicated to introducing staff to the public.
The personalised entries are consistent with Uniqlo's global customer service strategy.
As reported on ragtrader.com.au, Uniqlo has been training its Australian staff for the past 12 months.
Eighteen Australian graduates were also sent to Japan and Singapore last year to complete a four-month management training program.
