Uniqlo Australia has revealed a major e-commerce update to improve convenience and speed for shoppers locally.

Launching from September 17 next month, the global brand will introduce a suite of new services and features across its online and physical retail channels.

This includes enhanced Click & Collect services, including expanded access to the full online range and the introduction of in-store Click & Collect Lockers, with initial trials in Knox and Emporium stores.

A new ‘Order & Pick' service will launch from early October, allowing customers to collect online purchases in-store within two hours.

The retailer is also launching express delivery nationwide from September 16, which utilises the retailer’s state-of-the-art automated distribution centre in Victoria.

Uniqlo’s website is also being upgraded, with key improvements that include smarter search capability, streamlined layouts, an easier checkout process, and new payment methods such as Google Pay and Apple Pay.

Physical gift cards will also be available to use online and purchase in stores from September 17.

Other key upgrades into a new eConcierge service that will allow customers to shop the full online range directly in-store and pay at the register, with delivery to their preferred address. This launches on October 27, and matches a refreshed mobile app experience featuring increased support, online digital order history and curated content.

It will also include value-added services like pre-order options for selected items and integrated order history tracking across all channels.

“We’re committed to evolving with our customers’ needs and we have taken their feedback and implemented it into our e-commerce transformation,” Uniqlo Australia chief operations officer Satoshi Naito said.

“This transformation brings together speed, convenience and personalisation to deliver a truly seamless shopping experience – whether online, in-store, or both. We are thrilled to be able to provide many new ways for our customers to shop and enjoy LifeWear essentials through our expanded digital presence.”

As part of the roll-out, Uniqlo has temporarily turned off the ‘Click & Collect’ service from August 31 and will restart it on September 23. The website will not be operational for two days over September 15 and 16, and the app will relaunch on the 17th of September.
