What is Uniqlo doing in our classrooms?
Uniqlo Australia has teamed up with Ardoch Youth Foundation, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in the Australian market.
Year 11 and 12 students from Nelson Park School have visited the Uniqlo Emporium store in Melbourne for hands on experience in the retail industry.
During their visit, the Geelong-based students met employees and spoke to them about their work.
The students also explored the store with a walking tour, participated in a creative activity and shared a Japanese inspired lunch with the team.
The students were then given a $50 UNIQLO voucher and provided with the task of budgeting an outfit at the store, which they took home.
The Ardoch Youth Foundation is a children’s charity that drives engagement with schools in areas with high levels of socioeconomic disadvantage.
Uniqlo Australia CSR, PR and events manager Kate Evans said the two organisations had a mutual vision.
"Our partnership with the Ardoch Youth Foundation is a significant step toward realising our CSR vision to change the world for the better through clothing.
"An event like this allows young people the opportunity to learn about UNIQLO, career pathways and our approach to customer service."
