Japanese global apparel retailer Uniqlo will open its fifth Queensland store on Thursday, May 30 in Westfield Mt Gravatt.

Uniqlo’s newest store spans over 1000 square metres and will stock the retailer’s full line-up of apparel for men, women and kids, including the latest autumn/winter collection, and selected items from its Anya Hindmarch collection. Hindmarch is a UK-based fashion designer of luxury bags and accessories.

The Mt Gravatt store is also expecting several further designer collaborations over the upcoming months.

The store will feature five self-checkout machines, which use technology that eliminates the need to scan any items, along with 10 fitting rooms.

Uniqlo’s latest store will add to the business’ 36 stores in Australia, and more than 2,400 globally.

“Thanks to exceptional support from the Brisbane community, we are delighted to open our fifth store in Queensland and to bring a little Tokyo to the heart of Mt Gravatt,” Uniqlo Australia CEO Fuminori Adachi said. “Our Uniqlo Mt Gravatt team looks forward to providing UNIQLO’s world-famous levels of customer service for local customers, and to introducing our LifeWear philosophy of clothing to the community.”

Scentre Group regional manager of centre experience Kylie Doulman said Uniqlo is one of the most-requested brands by its customers at Westfield Mt Gravatt.

The store will open at 10am on May 30, following an official Japanese ribbon-cutting ceremony and traditional taiko drumming performance. Uniqlo will provide a free gift bag to the first 500 customers who spend $100 or more in the store, alongside other offers and promotions.
