Sweaty Betty, a UK activewear brand, has just launched a dedicated Australian store ahead of major expansion plans across the country.
Sweaty Betty enters the Australian market with a curated edit of its bestsellers, including its Power Legging range. According to the brand, it sells one every minute and is known for its sculpting silhouette and no-slip waistband.
The activewear brand was founded in London’s Notting Hill in 1998 by Tamara Norton-Hill. The brand fits within the athleisure space, connecting technical fabrics with fashion-forward designs.
Sweaty Betty has since scaled globally, recently launching stores in the United States, adding to more than 85 stores in the United Kingdom and Ireland, with additional locations in Hong Kong, Singapore, Germany and New Zealand.
The brand’s launch in New Zealand ahead of Australia was run by The Nevada Company, which is also tackling an Australian rollout of retail stores from 2026. Nevada is run by David and Elle Steans.
The business is currently building wholesale partnerships to expand its presence across key lifestyle and fashion retail destinations across Australia.
“Looking ahead, our goal is to open 20 stores around Australia and build strong partnerships with leading retail groups,” David Steans said “It’s early days, but the response has been exciting and we can’t wait to grow the Sweaty Betty community in Australia.”
