International footwear brand Nokwol has launched in Australia, landing at David Jones and The Iconic, as well as switching on its own local e-commerce site.

Founded in 2023 by an Australian retail family with more than four decades of industry experience, the London-born label has built a wholesale presence across the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, Japan and Canada before turning its attention to its home market.

Founder Craig Mance said the brand was born out of a gap he identified between performance trainers and high-end luxury sneakers.

"Most brands focused on either function or fashion, and very few delivered both at a high level," he said. "We wanted to bring those two worlds together, creating a sneaker that combines premium quality, exceptional comfort and fit, and cutting-edge fashion design."

On the decision to enter Australia specifically, Mance said the opportunity was clear: "After being in the shoe industry for so long and knowing the Australian market so well, we knew there was a real opportunity to bring Nokwol to Australia because we could see that nobody was creating what the consumer was looking for."

The brand has gained significant traction on social media, with more than 1,000 creator and customer videos amassing over 25 million combined views across platforms.

Its signature suede sneakers and contrast-detail trainers have achieved viral momentum, with Mance noting the response had been "extraordinary."

Nokwol's flagship retail store is located on King's Road in Chelsea, London, with further UK expansion planned for 2026.

Beyond sneakers, the brand's range includes boots, loafers, mules, flats and shoe charm accessories. Prices start at $199.
