Geelong-based footwear brand Emu Australia has picked up striking similarities between global label Ugg's latest campaign and an advertisement it ran four years ago.
The company launched an advertisement in 2012 showcasing its waterproof sheepskin boots.
“No doubt the creatives behind the local 2012 ad for local company Emu are flattered by international company Ugg’s almost identical ad for a new range of waterproof boots.
“Emu, based in Geelong, went to market with the water splashing ad featuring its tan waterproof sheepskin boots four years before Ugg, owned by American apparel company Deckers Brands, did this year.”
Ragtrader has contacted Ugg for a statement on the matter, but could not be reached at the time of publication.
Emu Australia was founded in 1994 and operates in around 70 global markets.
