Department store David Jones has joined forces with iconic designer Camilla Franks for a dynamic new venture.
The exclusive tie-up will see David Jones dedicate the prime bullnose window of its Elizabeth Street flagship store exclusively to Franks, from this week til September 22, to create a custom-designed 3D Camilla World installation.
The installation will embody the theme of Frank's latest collection – Pachamama 2013 – and includes a “magical fantasy cactus garden” with layers of plants, rocks and floor coverings to reflect the spirit of the spring/summer range.
Homewares and other objects have also been placed to blend into the landscape, with a suite of animal sounds set to play through speakers to complete the sensory experience. A graphic treatment has also been applied to the glass to create another layer of illusion and add a “playful and youthful dimension”.
Commenting on the partnership, Franks said it is a coup for the label.
“I have been so blessed to see the Camilla brand achieve so much recognition and support globally but nothing makes me prouder than being stocked right here at home in Australia in David Jones.
“I want everyone to feel welcome and at home as soon as they step into the store or what I like to call “Camilla World.”
