Iconic denim brand True Religion has launched its first store in Westfield Sydney, in the space recently vacated by Ksubi.
The pop-up store marks the first stand-alone retail store for the brand and will also see the introduction of True Religion’s new ‘Made in Italy’ collection.
'Made in Italy' is a range of denim designed and manufactured in Italy solely for the European and Asia/Pacific market.
International Fashion Group confirmed that True Religion has initially taken the space for a three-month term, however the option is on the table to extend. The company said it will be reviewing this based on the success of the initial three months.
The pop-up store will fill the gap left by cult brand Ksubi, which was placed in receivership last year and ceased retail operations in Australia as a result.
As reported by ragtrader.com.au earlier this week, Ksubi products will now be sold via retail chain General Pants Co, following a distribution deal inked with new brand owners US-based Breakwater Investment Management.
Commenting on the choice for the first True Religion retail location, International Fashion Group general manager Jacki Bresic said Westfield Sydney was the optimal retail location to showcase True Religion’s authentic denim collection.
“We have had the exclusive rights for True Religion over the last nine years, and are so excited to be able to showcase its evolution at a retail level,” she said.
Commenting on the 'Made In Italy' collection debut, she added that True Religion had identified a need to tailor a range of denim designed to meet the sartorial tastes of its European, Asian and Australian customers.
The exclusivity of this line also means that customers can only purchase these styles in-store as they are not available online or in the US market.
The True Religion Westfield Sydney store will showcase the brand's collections for men, women and children across their authentic American-made line, in addition to the new Italian collection.
