Trio partner for a revolution
Kelly Slater, Heidi Middleton and Celeste Tesoriero have thrown their support behind Fashion Revolution Week.
The week, which will run from April 18 to 24, encourages global brands to demonstrate greater transparency in their supply chains.
With a presence in 89 countries, the initiative will stage over 15 events across Australia and New Zealand alone.
Customers are encouraged to share their clothing labels on social media, tag respective brands and ask #whomademyclothes.
In 2015, Fashion Revolution Day achieved an online media reach of 16.5 billion, over 60 million unique users and 124 million impressions of #whomademyclothes.
This was in addition to over 350 events held around the world.
This year, Slater, Middleton and Tesoriero will join supporters such as Kit Willow, Livia Firth, Stella McCartney, Ginger and Smart, Nobody Denim, CUE, Nudie, Patagonia and American Apparel.
“We hope that sustainability becomes a trend which all brands want to implement, so the conversation is talking strictly about the clothing and the design” Slater said.
“Fashion Revolution is about awareness and change," Middleton agreed.
"Change that must shift in a world that is consuming more and caring less.
"This revolution is in place to protect the planet and its people, in a world where information and knowledge is all accessible, we have no excuse not to act.
"Be curious about where andhow your clothes are made."
