Industry tributes have poured in for Harper's Bazaar Australia, InStyle Australia and Elle Australia.

Mercury Capital announced it would cease publishing the three fashion titles yesterday, citing a weak advertising market amid COVID-19.

Editors, managing directors, publicists and creatives have taken to social media to express their thoughts at the news.

Former Vogue Australia editor Kirstie Clements took to Twitter to share her concerns for the broader sector.

"Not forgetting the devastating flow on effect for photographers, models, hair and makeup artists, PR and talent agencies," she tweeted.

In a message to its 19.6K Twitter followers, Melbourne Fashion Festival also expressed its condolences.

"We are devastated to hear about the magazine closures at Bauer. Our hearts go out to our friends and collaborators."

La Prairie managing director Rosi Fernandez paid a tribute on her Instagram page.

"Sending lots of love to all of my friends in publishing today."

The Audience Agency also acknowledged employees on its social media platform.

"Thank you for your artistic talent, incredible journalism, creative direction, ideation and for the beautiful magazines that Australians have had the pleasure of reading."
