British retail giant Topshop is not just expanding its Australian retail footprint - but extending its ties internally.

The brand has appointed Antipodium creative director Geoffery J. Finch as creative design consultant.

The Australian creative launched Antipodium with fellow local Ashe Peacock in 2006.

The brand now produces four collections a year from its Dalston studio and has been presenting on-schedule at London Fashion Week since 2010.

Finch will work under Topship creative director Kate Phelan and head of design Emma Farrow.

"We are all very excited and honored to have Geoffrey join the Topshop design team," Farrow said.

"He has established such a strong identity and innovation at Antipodium whilst creating incredibly commercial and desirable clothes.

"I can't wait to get his view on our trends and ideas to see where we can take Topshop in the future."

Finch described Phelan as "one of the most influential" women in fashion.

"The Topshop brand DNA has a wonderful synergy with my own label, Antipodium and I cannot wait to work with the team on providing the Topshop customer internationally with the very best of what we can deliver."
