Westfield Chatswood is about to receive a $110 million makeover.
A focus on strengthening the centre's fashion offering will be crucial to the redevelopment, with a two-level flagship Topshop Topman store opening on the Victoria Avenue entrance.
It will also feature a range of international and Australian retailers yet to be announced.
The project will see an extension from 77,000 square metres to around 80,000 square metres, taking the current two-level format to a whopping five.
Westfield Chatwood centre manager, Alison Pearson believes that the transformation will turn the centre into a world-class shopping destination.
“With a mix of new global mini-majors, international and urban fashion brands, cutting-edge facilities and authentic Asian eateries, we’re thrilled to bring a brand new Westfield Chatswood to our local community. The development will accentuate Chatswood as a bustling CBD by day and vibrant, social hub by night.”
The centre's current major retailers include Myer, Target and Zara.
It has been 16 years since Chatswood was last renovated in 1999, with management hopeful that the majority of retailers will be operating by late 2015.
Westfield Australia and New Zealand is currently owned and operated by Scentre Group, which has assets under management of $40.9 billion.
