Melbourne-based social enterprise HoMie will welcome a new high-profile team member on August 07 as part of Homelessness Awareness Week.

Comedian, TV personality and long-time HoMie supporter, Tommy Little, will join the HoMie crew on Saturday to help raise funds to support the organisation's work in the youth homelessness space.

Throughout the day, Little will work two shifts alongside HoMie store staff, with 100% of profits from every sale made going towards HoMie’s mission to support young people affected by homelessness or hardship.

"Our homeless mates have suffered more than most due to COVID," Little posted on Instagram.

"The legends down at HoMie are helping those in need the most as much as they can.

"If you want to help as well, you can come along to this and buy some dope clothes whilst also making an actual difference to our friends that need it most.

"If you’re not from Melbourne you can also get involved by ordering on the day as well.

"A lot of people are struggling at the moment so it’s a great opportunity for those who are able to help those most in need," he said.

Coffee company Minor Figures will also be serving free oat milk coffees throughout the day, with the first 100 customers set to receive their brew in a complimentary reusable cup from Frank Green.

"Putting his retail charm and customer service skills to the test, Tommy has his own record to break," HoMie added in a statement.

"In 2018, Tommy’s campaign for Youth Homelessness Matters Day led to over $150,000 in sales…can he do it again?

"Tommy will clock on at 10am until 4pm, with his hour lunch break in the middle, so make sure you time your visit to be served by Melbourne’s finest," HoMie said.

HoMie's entire range including hats, hoodies, socks and tees will be available in-store in a range of colours and sizes from XS to XXL.

The store will also launch a new long-sleeve design to celebrate the occasion and to mark the end of the important week.

Homelessness Awareness Week began on August 01 and runs to August 07.

Due to COVID restrictions, customers wishing to visit the HoMie store to see Little on August 07 have to register for the event.
