Levi's ANZ has brought coveted Japanese streetwear brand A Bathing Ape (BAPE) to Australia, as part of new collaboration collection.
The local launch forms part of the global release, which is the culmination of a worldwide lead-up with launches in Dubai in December 2019 and Miami in March 2020.
The 2021 launch focuses especially on collectability and exclusivity with the Levi’s split trucker jacket.
The newly-launched Levi’s x BAPE split trucker jackets feature the same half-and-half construction as the Dubai and Miami trucker jackets and come in five new colourways.
Both the Dubai and Miami drops featured two half-half colourways each, meaning that if brand superfans collect all nine styles they will have over 70 possible unique Levi’s x BAPE split trucker jacket combinations.
Levi's ANZ head of marketing Trent Bos said the collaboration reimagines classic Levi's styles.
"Our latest Levi’s collaboration to drop in Australia is with BAPE - one of the most covetable streetwear labels on the planet.
"We’re bringing the iconic playfulness and allure of BAPE to a series of reimagined Levi’s classics that highlight the synergy at the intersection of the Japanese streetwear and American heritage denim.
"Our Levi’s x BAPE split trucker jackets feature re-imagined half-and-half construction with a traditional shank button front and a full zipper down the back – enabling you to express your personal style," he said.
The collaboration collection also features Levi’s 501 ‘93s jeans, a western shirt, a t-shirt, a bandana, a six-panel cap, and a zip-front trucker jacket.
The collection is available now and retails for between $99.95 - $399.95.
