eBay Australia and New Zealand has a new manging director, placing him in charge of a platform that sells to three in five Australians.
Tim Mackinnon has taken over the role, following the appointment of Jooman Park to senior vice president (SVP) APAC last month.
“Tim has a fantastic track record within the eBay Australia and New Zealand business having lead both the seller and marketing teams during his six and a half year tenure in the Sydney office,” said Park.
“Tim is well-known to the Australian eBay seller community and is well-respected by them for his deep ecommerce insight and partnership.”
“When I moved to Sydney four years ago, I set out to help define a new Australian retail landscape by successfully partnering with businesses and establishing online retail standards,” continued Park.
“I am delighted with the progress the team has made and I know that Tim is the right leader to help guide the business as the ecommerce landscape in Australia continues to evolve.”
Mackinnon welcomed the new role.
“The Australian ecommerce industry is entering a new, exciting period for businesses and consumers alike,” he said.
“eBay has been here since the earliest days helping to pioneer the industry, supporting Australian businesses to seize opportunities and providing consumers with great deals.
"It is a great responsibility to continue to grow the 40,000 Australian businesses on the eBay platform, grow the careers of our employees and help 3 in 5 Australian consumers to save money.”
